Cornell Food Processing Pumps

Cornell introduced the first Hydro-Transport food process pump to the industry nearly 50 years ago. Unlike other solids handling pumps, or other types of pumps that are sometimes used in the food industry, the Cornell P and PP series pumps are designed and manufactured with the sole purpose of pumping food products. Ideal for applications such as fruit washing and packing as well as many other food processing operations. Utilizing Cornell inventions such as an offset volute, Cornell food process pumps have the lowest product damage rates in the industry and are the pump of choice for food processors  around the world.

Cornell Hot Oil Pumps

Enhanced vapor handling and improved sealing technology are central to Cornell’s latest hot cooking oil pump innovations. When fresh product passes through a fryer, water tends to travel along the bottom of the fryer in a liquid phase at 392°F (200°C), until it reaches the pump suction where the action of the impeller breaks up the water into smaller droplets that flash into steam. Ordinarily, entrained steam would impair the pump’s head and flow, but Cornell’s innovative anti-cavitation system prevents this situation.

Features and Benefits:

  • Uniform thermal expansion
  • Ductile iron and stainless steel construction also available
  • External balance line for lower seal box pressure, particle removal and reduced axial loading
  • Vapor suppression line to help eliminate flashing of water-entrained oil
  • Handles temperatures up to 550 °F
  • Oil-lubricated bearing frames
  • Replaceable wear rings and shaft sleeves
  • Fully-machined impellers
  • Heavy-walled castings
  • Two-year warranty
  • Low cost of repair
  • High efficiency

MDM Advance Series

The MDM Advance Series is one of the most efficient and adaptable centrifugal pumps of its kind. With an evenly balanced delivery of flow and pressure, the design of the pump, coupled with the chosen resins, produces a strong, durable and versatile unit that allows for a broad range of applications.

MDM GENESYS SERIES

The MDM Genesys Series non-metallic, end-suction centrifugal pump line is designed and engineered to provide highly efficient chemical and other fluid pumping solutions.

The Genesys composite construction with no wetted metal parts gives it compatibility with many aggressive chemicals. The unique closed-impeller and time-tested volute design render performances up to 340 GPM and 178’ of shut off head with peak performances at 76% efficiency.

Genesys pumps are among the first to demonstrate a strong yet simple economic reason to start switching to BMC thermosets: Compared to metallic materials of construction, thermosets are about half the cost. BMC provides Genesys pumps with a set of material properties that are better than metallic or thermoplastic components, including equal or higher strengths and stiffness/dimensional stability.  BMC offers low shrink and low warp; it molds to net dimensions and holds tight tolerances.
